Life In Abandon This is a quick guide as to how we handle hunting, combat, pack creation, mating, and healing.
Hunting - Hunting prey is for the members to do on their own. Most wolves can easily fight a small prey item like a rabbit on their own. Larger prey, like deer or elk, should be handled by multiple wolves. Larger prey or predators should be handled realistically. Wolves might not get through the fight unscathed if they rush in, for example. Occasionally, there will be an event for migrations of certain animals, sick herds, a trophy version of a large prey or dangerous predator to fight, and more.
Combat - Fights can be over anything, but we do ask that members are realistic about how their characters fight. A cub is not going to destroy a large five year old wolf. A wolf who has been raised to be a soldier probably will outmatch a wolf who has not had such training. If wolves are evenly matched, members are welcome to choose between deciding the outcomes on their own via plotting or to ask staff to decide the outcomes.
Pack Formation - All packs are member created. Please post a reply to the [Pack Formation] thread using the provided form with your pack's concept & ideals, location, and at least two other founding members. Once your pack is accepted, you may post a claim thread in your desired territory and will be given a pack sub-board to post pack information such as rules, announcements, ranking, and more. Just post in Staff Maintenance Thread for any Member Group Changes.
Mating - Wolves can mate and birth in any season. Once again, members have freedom over who is the father, who their characters are paired with, whether the mating was consensual or not. You only need to post in the Staff Maintenance if your characters are expecting. Staff will create a list of basic stats (adult size/weight/apparent sex/etc). Parents can flesh out their cubs before adopting them out or allow members to flesh them out as they adopt them. Any unadopted cubs will be assumed to not have survived their first few months. Gestation is one IC Season.
Healing - For the most part, healing is done as in Warrior Cats, with herbs and things. Please research the type of environment each plant is native to and have your character find them accordingly. Feel free to use artistic license to create makeshift splints and other things. The setting is in a land that has a touch of magic in it, so healers can also make use of this. Any remarkable landmarks, for example, will be listed as a Stickied & Locked thread in the boards they are found in.
